Collaro Designs, a family run business, was started 27 years ago by Mario Collaro who's first projects in South Africa included Oppenheimer, the Krok Brothers and Chiavelli to be joined shortly by his children Michael, Rita And Tony. This team of extremely talented individuals in their own right has grown from a small factory and showroom in New Doornfontein to impressive new premises in Elandsfontein, Marlboro and Fourways respectively.

With the International contracts, contacts and extensive library of product, fabrics, finishes and accessories, the Collaro Team are not only able to source product locally and Internationally, but are able to produce quality furniture at international standards.

Devoted to fostering excellence in both residential and corporate Interior design, the design team from Collaro Designs, takes pride the natural talent of combining practical knowlege with artistic ability. It is in this way that abstract ideas seamlessly integrate into formal designs. Drawing from an extensive knowledge base, gained from years of experience, new designs are developed by amalgamating each individual client's needs and particular sense of taste, together with the ultimate function for which the design is required. Aside from successfully developing and implementing interior design themes for a broad base of customers, Collaro Designs also manufactures it's own range of contemporary and neo-classic furniture, for which the excellent workmanship is guaranteed. By enhancing the function and quality of the interior space, Collaro Designs undertakes to continuously improve the quality of the overall indoor experience by showcasing Collaro's specialized skills, talent and product lines in a unique artistic merger of practicality, sophistication and aesthetic appeal.

Heading the Team on the design and decor side, is Rita Collaro, with a deeply rooted heritage in the industry, it was only natural that one should follow in the ancestral footsteps and after a foundation in the study of Graphic Design; it was practical time in the family business.

Tertiary education in Graphic design formulated a foundation for what was to come from the genius of Mario Collaro, Rita's father and the creative driving force behind Collaro Designs. Invaluable hands on tutelage on some of the firm's biggest projects of the last 23 years were to provide the seed and technical expertise required to complement the creative flair of Rita Collaro.

There have been many achievements, with magnificent private homes having been completed from foundation to roof, as well as technical and creative consultation on various residential developments and their show units have been regular challenges. Recently the start to finish completion of The Angolan State President, Mr. Eduardo Dos Santos's, private lounge, office and press conference room as well as the ministerial and parliamentary lounges at Luanda International Airport was a major highlight. The lounges and conference room were inaugurated during the recent African Summit and graced by every African head of state and international dignitaries. Newly completed is the Pyramid Rox recording studios at the Pyramid Conference Centre in Johannesburg. Currently Collaro have completed a Boutique Hotel on the Natal coast, apartments in Sandton and is starting on a large residence in Nigeria and two golf estates on the Coast.

Collaro Designs has now created a complete in house advisory service that is available to all customers. In conjunction with selected associates, Collaro provides a one stop design and decor service, custom made for the individual and their ever-changing needs from home to large resort.
